Of course, in the standard game, non expansion items can’t drop and so on and the game ignore them for the purpose of picking items and such, but other than such things, this post (and future posts on the subject) will apply equally to both the standard and expansion game. For all practical matters, it works the same in the x-pack and the standard game. It has changed quite a lot in 1.08 over how it used to work.
